...I have to post this because it amuses me: yesterday Mark took Daisy out to eat at a restaurant and an eccentric old man gave her ten dollars for being cute. And people say children take money? I tell you, this child is profitable!

Ah, this brings back my childhood. Tim was the cute member of the family when we lived on the beach at Long Beach, home (then) of the Pacific fleet. Tim was in the second grade. We roamed the beach, amid sailors, in those carefee times, and many a sailor, a long way from home, gave Tim money, which he shared with his older brother.

Hmmm, I guess my anecdote might seem creepy, actually! Well, all I can say is that I wasn't there. Mark apparently deemed it acceptable to take the money. I guess it's kind of like taking candy from strangers!
