Foreman Claude, Kitty Movers

The dear creature sat in every single shelf in our apartment, as soon as it became vacated. He has since pooped in our new apartment; I'm hoping it's just initial adjustment pains.

mine, mine, all mine! don't take it away from me... sez Claude.

The pink tongue in the last shot is adorable. But then Claude is adorable.

Thank you for the kind words for Claude, Katherine! His parents really appreciate it... he is the most misunderstood of kitties. And, Albert, you could be right-- maybe the pooping is a territorial thing-- he seemed to go out of his way to do it in two different places in the new apartment. Or it could be a sign of anxiety. Remotely, it could be a sign that he's ill, if he keeps doing it... in that case, we'll have to take him to the vet. But keep your fingers crossed that it was an isolated incident. (Did your cats pee in your bed while you were away on vacation? I've heard of them doing things like that.)

Well, once you figure out Claude, you can figure out how to avoid his claws (he hasn't clawed us the last couple of times we visited!). He does love to sit on your lap, but prefers petting to be kept to a minimum.

Poop-wise, I think indoor poops are often a "protest" regarding disruptions to the normal environment (moving, vacations, et al). Switching species, our dog when I was a kid would always poop in the house when it knew we were going on a big trip eg camping or moving boxes! So in addition to rushing about getting ready for the trip, we had to keep watch for little mounds to clean up! Stepping in them was no fun...

Anyway, enough poop talk from me! Claude and Kerouac will soon be comfy in their new place, tho who knows what sort of protests they will make when they see the new addition to the family...

A house is not a home until it's been pooped in.

Heh heh heh. Thank you, Paul! In that case... this is officially a home. A homey home.

I am sorry, Albert! I can't believe the cat peed on the bed while you were in it. I've only heard of cats doing that out of anxiety while their owners are away. Poor neurotic kitty :-)
I hope he/she is feeling better.

Oooh, good point, Melissa! I can't wait to tell Mark that Claude takes after Gene Simmons. He will be thrilled.

I agree, Katherine... I think Claude's pooping was a sign of the trauma. The odd thing is that we expected Kerouac to be the traumatized one, but he has been doing better than Claude. I think we will ALL be doing better when our house is no longer just piles of boxes and books, etc.

So, how much does Claude charge for his moving assistance services?

To have a cat to sit in all your empty shelves and boxes while you're trying to pack and move? The prices are going to be pretty steep for such excellent help. But Claude would probably give you a discounted rate, Billiam.
