Words of maternal comfort
This morning, on the phone, my mother said to me in a warm, loving, reassuring voice: "Now, honey, I know that having a newborn is going to make you feel worried or anxious sometimes, so if you ever have ANY questions or concerns, I don't want you to hesitate to pick up the phone and call your friend Amy."

My brother Tim is another good source of advice.
Better than Mom herself?? That is what cracks me up. She was so quick to indicate that she, herself, would be of no help!

You're right, Deb. Those of us who are good at passing the buck should run for office. In my defense, however, I was just referring Sarah to someone whose expertise is far superior to mine and whose experience of childbirth and childraising is a hell of a lot more recent! We all want the best advice for Sarah and Daisy!
