Me, pregnant version

I had not taken any pictures of myself doing this pregnancy thing and it has been pointed out to me that that is an oversight :-)
Yes, despite my current pain and suffering, I may someday wish to remember what it all looked like and felt like. So I asked Mark to photograph me in my fancy black maternity dress for the university dinner last night. Since he did not say, "1, 2, 3, action!", most of the pics came out with my eyes closed. But here is one (you can see I had no warning on this one either, but at least my eyes are open).

PS That's me outside our new apartment.
PPS It's windy in San Francisco. I didn't put on a wind machine for romantic effect.

Hey that's a great shot. Looks like a pose for a magazine, with the wind blowing your hair.

My God. You are blossoming. I once suspected that was a kindly myth generated to distinguish pregnant people from the merely fat. But you look really beautiful.

I'll third/fourth the prior comments: that is a stunning picture. Are you folks all unpacked and settled in now?

Thanks, Bill, and everybody--I've been feeling self-conscious about the extra weight, stupidly enough, and wasn't too keen to be photographed, so it is nice to hear that you like this picture.

Sadly, we are *not* all settled in yet--it's a long, gradual process. We fit in cleaning/organizing around our work schedules and other things. We haven't even spent one full day on it yet, but we will when school ends. It's not presentable yet.

I think you should put Arnzen to work unpacking your stuff when he gets there. Tell him it's research into the nature of "abjection"....

Hrm. As this is a thread on Sarah, pregnant version, I'm led to assume that "unpacking your stuff" is a euphemism, William Bill. Like somehow Mike will deliver Mark and Sarah's baby. And that's just very, very weird.

Well, I just assumed that was the purpose of his visit...And frankly, I question your implied doubt of Dr. Arnzen's obstetric ability.

A little bit more than I needed to know ...

When are you coming out here, Bill?

I gots a teaching slot for the second summer session at PhilaU, so I have a window between the 11th of August and the 28th when the new fall term starts. I was originally thinking Labor Day weekend with Chris and Erin in Seattle, but if I'm going to spend the time and money to get out there, I might as well make it worth the effort and do some extended visiting. I should be able to finalize my trip decisions in the next few weeks.
