Lesson learned

That lesson is: do not take Daisy to the doctor's office again unless she really, really needs it. She was getting better, but they still wanted to see her, so we brought her in. There were a million coughing, sneezing, sickly children in the waiting room. The next day, she was much, much worse. In fact she has been sicker than I have ever seen her.

Yuck.

Thanks all! Yeah... I am still not sure why they wanted to see her in the first place. I called because she had a bad cough and I was wondering if there was any safe medicine to give babies for coughs. I know there are studies out there that say there are dangers. When I called the nurse hotline, they put me through a series of questions and apparently the way I answered made them want to see her. I should have known better, though, because I _knew_ she was on the mend. I think they must have just been following some protocol (like, "If the caller says the baby's cough is worse at night, ask them to come in"). I should have followed my instincts.

Lisa! Hi! Ooooh, you should start a blog... yeah. Keep me informed if you do. I hope to see you soon at a playgroup! I had to miss this last one but I would definitely want to do one soon. I'm going away for a brief trip but will be back by the 16th or 17th.

Well, it is true that hospitals are dangerous places and to be avoided. But a new infection takes several days to develop, so it is unlikely that the hospital is to blame in this instance.
