Yes!

Daisy just said, "Barack Obama!" I am so proud of her.

I started exclaiming, "Barack Obama! Daisy just said Barack Obama!" in tones of delight.

This caused my mother, who's awaiting the results of the Pennsylvania primary, to rush agitatedly into the room saying, "Barack Obama? Did you say Barack Obama? Have you heard something??"

Too bad that my adorable news was disappointing in this case. No great news to report (yet) but I am hopeful.

Leo cast his vote a few months ago. We were at the counter in a bookstore which had a display featuring books by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Leo pointed at the Obama books and I said, "That's Barack Obama." Then I pointed to the other books and said, "That's Hillary Clinton." Leo looked politely, then turned and pointed again to the Obama books. Ah, the wisdom of youth!

Yes!! Go Leo!

I feel strongly that Daisy is also an Obama supporter, although she seems to have the word "Obama" slightly confused with "Alabama"-- her favorite song, "Oh, Susanna," features the line, "I come from Alabama," of course. So whenever she'd hear "Obama," she'd say, "I come from Bama." This puzzled me for awhile, but I think I understand now.

Well, more insidious forces have tried to give the name "Obama" worse associations, of course. Grrrrrrrrrr.
