Er, wow
I had a doctor's appointment today and it seems I am 2 to 2.5 cm dilated. Wow! I wasn't expecting that news. My doctor did something to me, too, that is supposed to (maybe, probably) stimulate labor within the next 48 hours or so. (I am not trying to be prudish, but I honestly can't remember exactly what it was--something to do with removing a membrane.) She thinks the baby is likely to be on-time-ish. Wow again! So, I don't know--it could be soon.
As exciting as everything is, I was still shallow enough to note that I have lost a pound.

PS: Oh, come on, it wasn't that shallow. My grandmother was pissed off when she got her gall bladder removed and didn't lose any weight. You'd think it weighed something.
Thanks, guys!! I am excited, but not much has happened yet. I am having cramping sensations, but nothing too very painful yet. I am waiting. I am still very much the "smiling facial expression" on the Birth Handbook they give you at Kaiser (next comes a frowning face, followed by absolute psychosis, and fewer bangs, for some reason). That gall bladder story cracks me up, Meg.
